Art DeArmond

Arthur DeArmond considers himself a recovering evangelical after spending the majority of his adult life as a Professional Pharisee. He has spent the last five years stumbling along on a journey of discovery. Along the way, he is becoming comfortable with the reality that his knowledge of his faith is highly suspect, his brokenness is fully operational and that people actually love him.

Today, Arthur is an author and speaker. Join him here to take part in his ongoing journey.

Thanks for giving me some time.

A few things about me……..

  • Compassion – My heart feels for the brokenness in people
  • Honesty – As a trained liar, I now treasure the pursuit of truthfulness
  • No judgment – I’m broken and still struggling with very substantive failures and  flaws, so I view those i meet as fellow travelers
  • Wisdom – A bit of it from a 32 year career as a professional pharisee and 6 years as a human being
  • A good laugh – I can be mildly amusing and have three decent stories

Traveling Companion

A personal application of ‘Samson and the Pirate Monks’

After thee years I finally finished the book my good friend Nate Larkin asked me to write. Similar to Nate’s book it is a collection of stories of my brokenness joined with questions originating from the consequences I’ve caused myself and others as a result of my brokenness. I hope it will be both an encouragement and challenge to you.

“Art is a grizzled veteran of the Samson Society, a man with a fund of wisdom to impart and plenty of stories to tell. I’m sure you will find his company delightful as you make your way through this book, which is Art’s latest give to his brothers.”                Nate Larkin  author of Samson and the Pirate Monks
